Project management
  • Creation and maintenance of a Project Database within the company’s proprietary SQL Server image management application.
  • Creation and maintenance of a Project Web Page displaying continuously updated image submissions, image details, the research status, and usage data.
  • Development of an estimate of professional fees and expenses with monthly updates on estimated versus actual results.
  • Oversight by senior Feldman management and project managers to assure excellent ongoing service, observance of deadlines, and good communication.
Photo research
  • Receipt and entry of photo specs into the Project Database, or if requested, creation of photo specs based on supplied manuscript.
  • Identification of stock and non-stock image sources appropriate to the spec list, and distribution of Photo Requests to each source.
  • Conduct electronic research among appropriate online resources.
  • For images not otherwise available from stock, non-stock or online sources, commission of appropriate original photography (with prior client approval).
  • Receipt and logging of supplier submissions and online researched images into the Project Database.
Photo editorial
  • Review of analog and digital supplier submissions, identifying images to be submitted for client consideration and posted to the Project Web Page.
  • Entry into the Project Database of complete information on all images to be posted.
  • Communication to the client of important editorial information learned about requested images during the research process.
  • Log out and return of all analog images not submitted for client consideration.
  • Turnover of images for posting to the Feldman Imaging and Web Management department.
  • Communication with the client regarding posted images to determine selections or the need for additional research.
Image and web management
  • Scanning, optimization and posting of researched images to the Project Web Page.
  • Distribution of reports documenting the posting of images to the Project Web Page.
  • Acquisition and transmittal of selected images to the client via the Feldman website.
  • Final return of selected analog images to image suppliers.
  • Oversight of client usernames, passwords, project access, and related security measures.
Photo permissions
  • Review of final page proofs to confirm image usage, entry of usage data into the Project Database and posting of data to the Project Web Page.
  • Export of final photo credits information from the Project Database into an electronic file format specified by the client.
  • Acquisition of pricing for all used images, negotiation of fair and competitive use fees, incorporating preferred vendor pricing.
  • Entry of final pricing information into the Project Database, posting data to the Project Web Page.
  • Handling of special and secondary permissions required by museums, estates and other organizations or institutions.
  • Distribution of a permissions documentation to image suppliers.
  • Export of final image usage data from the Project Database into client systems or an electronic file format specified by the client.
Text permissions
  • Creation and maintenance of a text permissions database to manage all relevant text spec detail.
  • Solicitation and negotiation of rights and permissions sought.
